WHAT TO DO WHEN YOUR BABY IS COLICKY
Many mums and I am not the exception are worried about colic in babies and how to deal with it. Colic may occur when the baby is 12-14 days young and may last up until 6-8 weeks, some babies have it for even longer. Colic is seen when babies are in need of some tummy support.
So how can you help your baby in this difficult period?
Ok I am not a doctor, I am not going to lie, but I wanted to share a few non-invasive techniques that I was using in my photo studio lately in order to help the baby to calm down and relax for his(her) first ever photos session.
For some time now I have been using soothing and calming essential oils by doTERRA Essential Oils. The type of essential oil matters as the majority on the market are adulterated and contain fillers, synthetics and more. doTERRA essential oils are certified pure therapeutic grade, so they are a hundred percent pure and natural.
So how do the oils help to support those with colic?
Apply diluted Zengest and Wild Orange oil (1 drop of each oil in a 10ml rollerball and topping off that bottle with fractionated coconut oil) onto the baby’s feet and tummy. Fractionated coconut oil is a great carrier oil because it’s non greasy and good for the skin. In addition a nursing mom can often change her diet to support healthy digestion by eliminating specific foods and taking digestive enzymes to help absorb nutrients and break down food.
