NEWBORN PHOTO SESSION. 6 THINGS TO EXPECT
Congratulations! You have just had your baby! Now it is perfect time to capture your baby’s tiniest features to keep and remember for lifetime! Let’s book your newborn photo session.
Once you had your baby, please do contact me at your first opportunity to book a firm date in the diary for your newborn photo session.
“I love you so much and I don’t want you to ever forget that sometimes i don’t say it enough so i love you baby”
On the day of your newborn photo session, get your baby ready before you set off.
1. On the day of your newborn photo session, get your baby ready before you set off.
It’s good to give your baby some awake time before the session if you can (no more than 20-30 minutes), and then a good feed at the studio so we have the most time of baby being asleep during our newborn photo session. Before we begin, it’s important to burp the baby very well, so nothing is bothering your baby during the photo session. I will gladly do the honours for you. All mummy needs is to feed (if not on a bottle) and rest. I will do the rest.
Now your baby is all ready for his or her first photographs in my photo Studio.
2. Best tool to send your baby to sleep during the newborn photo session
I usually start off by wrapping your baby for the photos. Wrapping gives your baby sense of security and warmth. Baby usually falls asleep within a few minutes. Wrapping is also a safe way of posing your baby with older siblings.
Worry not that your baby won’t fall asleep. Sooner or later every baby will fall asleep and the wrap usually helps a lot to calm even an unsettled baby. We will never rush your baby there is no other appointments in the day of your newborn photo session, your baby is always the only and the most important client of the day.
3. What poses to expect during the baby photo session?
With our baby being wrapped, I can achieve a huge selection of various photos for your newborn photo session gallery. Such as
Potato Sack pose
Round Bowl pose
Heart Bowl pose
Cot bed pose
Bucket pose back
Bucket pose head on hands
Nighty Night pose
Several Parents poses
Baby on the shelf pose
See we have almost filled your gallery with beautiful photos of your baby already!
4. How about some breaks during the photo session?
Should your baby need any breaks in any given point of time during the newborn photo session, we will take any time needed to keep your baby comfortable.
It is very common for your baby to feed a lot more than usual during the newborn photo session as I would keep moving your baby more in his or her sleep than you would normally do at home so baby uses up more energy and stays in a first light phase of sleep for longer.
5. When to expect family photos?
Depending on how easily your baby is settling we may start or finish with the family photos.
If there are any siblings involved, I always start with the family photos, to help your older baby stay focused on the baby brother or sister. Mummy and older daughter can enjoy a selection of dresses to look extra pretty for the photos. There is a guide available for all the dads and boys on what to wear too.
After family photos are finished, your baby can stay and have some rest, watch cartoons, have a snack or do some colouring. I am also happy to supply some toys for your baby (thanks to my two kids, we are never in short supply of those)
Alternatively, daddy or any other adults is welcome to take your older baby for a walk. There is a wonderful playground only 5 minutes’ walk from the Studio in the nearby park.
6. What about additional poses during the newborn photo session?
Have you chosen an all-inclusive package? Then at this point of time after a nice break, we will stay in the studio for another hour or hour and a half so to complete your full gallery package with some beanbag poses.
Bum Up pose
Egg wrap pose
Head on hands pose
Most parents love these timeless and simple images. It is just and your baby and no more distractions.
