WHY BOOK BABY PHOTOSHOOT?
You’re bundle of joy has arrived and you are cuing over the cutest little details, totally in joy and hoping to remember every little detail of these tiny toes for a lifetime. Of course it is such an important event that the memory has to remember!! The trouble is memory fails us when we least expect it! Babies grow and develop so fast in the first year of their life, yet sometimes it is hard to notice as we care for the baby 24/7 and really wish the sleepless nights to be over sooner, the colic to ease faster, the teeth to cut through quickly and then we look back and baby is no longer a baby, but a little toddler. I love this toddler with all my might, but where did my baby go????
Newborn stage of baby’s development is very fleeting! It passes faster than a blink of an eye! And you know what? Your baby will have lots and lots of firsts in his life, but will never be able to go back to the newborn stage. Your baby is a baby only once in their lifetime.
WHEN TO BOOK NEWBORN PHOTO SESSION?
Best time to book your newborn photo session is when you are still expecting your baby.
Booking is based on your due date — we PENCIL a tentative date in the diary (around 10 days after your baby is due to be born) and then once infant baby arrives (could be before or after your due date) we then book a FIRM DATE in the diary.
Because of the floating dates, I can only take a limited amount of bookings a month, so it’s better to book sooner rather than later.
HOW OLD DOES THE BABY NEED TO BE FOR THE PHOTOSHOOT?
Best time for your baby photoshoot is when your baby is between 6-12 days old. The younger the baby, the better he or she will stay in the fetus poses. They will still remember being in mummy’s tummy and curled up positions are the most comfortable for your newborn bundle.
WHAT IF MY BABY IS OLDER THAN 12 DAYS? CAN I STILL HAVE A NEWBORN PHOTO SESSION?
Absolutely! Sometimes babies have to stay in the hospital for medical reasons, by all means it is not the reason to cancel the photo session. We will move it to the date when you are all safely back home.
Is your baby premature?? Did you know that when your baby arrives ahead of due date, it extends the window of opportunity for the newborn photo session and your infant stays asleep and curled up for longer.
If you haven’t got round to booking your session earlier, that’s also ok. Provided your baby is younger than 6-7 weeks, I can still do a newborn photo session in the newborn style. Your baby is likely to be less asleep than a really fresh newborns, however, it means we can take lots of photos with the eyes opened, with the smiles and direct eye contact and when your baby gets tired, I will be able to pose him or her in the newborn poses.
Drop me a message on Instagram or complete the Contact me form and we will discuss your individual situation in detail and find the best solution for your baby’s photo session.
HOW LONG DOES THE NEWBORN PHOTO SESSION TAKE?
Baby photoshoot can take up to 4 HOURS. Why does it take so long??? Every baby is different, some babies are really good sleepers and I can finish within 2,5 hours, other babies need a little more time to settle. I allow plenty of time for feeding, changing, settling, rocking and burping. All my sessions are led by your infant, we will take as long as your baby is needed.
WHAT IS INCLUDED IN MY BABY PHOTOSHOOT?
Every newborn photo session includes a vast selection of props, outfits, hats, headbands and more?? Every mummy can also borrow a dress from my studio wardrobe and it is all included for FREE so you don’t have to worry about a thing!
